Procast - Permanent Mold Process

Permanent Mold Casting Process

The Permanent Mold Process is one of versatility. Although not all parts may be suitable, most castings can be done in our process at a much more inexpensive "start up" cost than that of Pressure die casting and other casting processes. In comparison, a Permanent Mold produced in Iron or tool steel is usually 1/10th the cost of a Pressure Die Cast mold and can produce parts with excellent surface finish, dimensional characteristics, and high strength to weight ratios. With regards to Sand Castings, our process can produce far superior and smoother castings requiring less finish machining, usually at lower per piece costs.

Here are some advantages of Permanent Mold Castings:

  • Low tooling and per piece costs
  • Short lead-times
  • Flexible order quantities to suit your companies purchasing requirements
  • Parts with high strength to weight ratio
  • Less finish machining
  • Excellent surface finishes
  • Ability for cast-in inserts (steel, iron, or other)
  • Consistently "tight" tolerances
  • High quality repeatable consistency
  • The ability to produce complex shapes with the use of internal sand cores
  • Castings from ounces to 150lbs in weight

When it comes to Permanent Mold Aluminum and Zinc Alloy castings, it is the versatility of the process which has made it one of today's first choices for manufacturers in most industries. Whether your company requires small, medium, or large runs this process can produce the right parts for your company. As well as versatility, the Permanent Mold Process is also now one of the most economical processes for the sourcing of all of your Aluminum and Zinc Alloy Casting requirements. It is for these reasons and many more, that this process lends itself to virtually every industry imaginable. These industries include:
